Mr. Nathan Wade Shelton, 95, husband of the late Mary Hurd Shelton, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at his home. He was born in Mount Airy, NC, a son of the late Ramey Shelton and the late Clennie Rakes Shelton. Mr. Shelton was a graduate of Mount Airy High School and was the retired owner and operator of Shelton International. He was a US Army Veteran having served from 1946 to 1947 in Japan. Mr. Shelton was a generous kind man that loved people and was always lending a helping hand to those in need. He dearly loved his family and his dog Gurl. 
Surviving are his son, Barry Shelton (Kay) of Huntersville, NC; his two daughters, Sally Shelton Hagood (Ben) of Anderson, and Sandra Shelton Singleton (Richard) of Central; ; four sisters, Jean Arrington, Dorothy Baynes, Betty Hall and Parabelle Hiatt; his grandchildren, Cory Ingram (Kristen), Allison Fickling (Chris), Jessica Glymph (Dale), Lee Shelton (Kate), Benjamin Hagood (Ashton), and Mary Caroline Redden (Joshua); and thirteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Mr. Shelton was predeceased by six brothers, Roy Shelton, Paul Shelton, Charles Shelton, Russell Shelton, Don Shelton and Buddy Shelton; three sisters, Frances Faye Shelton, Annie Belton and Ruth Etta Mills; and a grandson, Cameron Shelton.

Private services will be held and interment will take place in the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
