Neldia Gaye Hiatt

Mrs. Neldia Gaye White Hiatt, age 70, of Ararat, VA, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Baptist Hospital.  Mrs. Hiatt was born in Surry County on September 10, 1948, to Genie Madison and Bertha Ellen Callahan White.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and dear friend who will be dearly missed.  Surviving are daughters and son-in-law, Donna and Pete Fariss, and Angela Speas; a son, Lee Hiatt and special friend, Andrea Miller; grandchildren, Angel S. Gregson and husband Clay, Jansen Wood, and Joshua Fariss; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucille and Worth Williams, Juanita Puckett, Jean and Don Badgett, Bonnie and Victor Lindquist, Mary Willis and Linda and A. C. Shores; and brothers and sister-in-law, Tom and Karen White and Alton White.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hiatt was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Elbert Hiatt; and brothers, Elwood White, Roger White, and Ivan White.  The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy and services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 21st, at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Arlis Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in Gunnell Cemetery.
