Nell Zellalou Lowe

Ms. Nell Zellalon Mayes Lowe, age 79, of Elkin, NC passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Pruitt Health in Elkin.  She was born in Forsyth County on September 16, 1941, to the late Joseph Vannora Mayes and the late Bertha Lee Hawks Mayes.  She was a homemaker.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sons, Jay Lowe, Barry Lowe, Deon Lowe, Terry Lowe; grandson, Jesse Lowe; granddaughter, Tammy Lowe; brother, Roy Lee Mayes; half-sister, Hazel Nixon; half-brothers, Leon Mayes, Curtis Mayes, Howard Mayes, Lawrence Mayes.  Surviving is her husband, Lawrence Pierce Lowe, daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Eddie Brown; sons and daughters-in-law, Chester and Ginger Lowe, Darrell and Amanda Lowe; former daughter-in-law, Patsy Lowe; grandchildren, Cory and Amber Brown, Joey and Jordon Brown, Kimberly and Jesse Kinyon, Bradley and Courtney Lowe, Angela and Patrick Freeman, Heather and Matt Durham, Beth and Matt Preslar, David Lowe and Shannon Anderson, Jessica Lowe and Alex Crotts, Bobby and Payton Lowe, Tiffany and Nathan Cain, Ashley Caudle, Steven Lowe; several great-grandchildren; half-sister, Lenna Mayes Willie; several nieces and nephews.  A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, February 10, 2021 in the cemetery of Roaring Gap Baptist Church by Rev. Joe Atkins and Rev. Woody Flippen.  Her body will lie in state from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Moody-Davis Funeral Home. Due to COVID restrictions, the family requests all attendees wear a mask and practice social distancing.
