Nell Mae Wood Pelkey

Mrs. Nell Mae Wood Pelkey, age 86 o Mt. Airy, widow of Mr. Oliver Pelkey, passed away Saturday, December 02, 2006 at Surry Community Nursing Center. Mrs. Pelkey was born in Stokes County, April 28, 1920 to Otha and Sudie Stevens Wood. She was a retired nursing assistant and was a member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and George Cassell of Charlotte; Kay and Sam Rule of Mebane; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, December 3, 2006 at Skyline Memory Gardens conducted by Rev. Sam Rule. The will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. Moody Funeral Home is serving the Pelkey family.
