Nell Fowler Scott

Mrs. Nellie "Nell" Fowler Scott, 84, widow of Mr. Graham Scott, of Dobson, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Joan and Howard Woltz Home. Mrs. Scott was born in Surry County on October 2, 1925 to the late Walter Thomas and Lucinda Nixon Fowler. She was retired form Belk Department Store and a member of Salem Fork Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jennie Scott of Barstow, CA.; a grandson, Kevin Scott; a great- granddaughter, Kara Scott; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Annie Lowe of Mount Airy and Betty and Robert Hemmings of Dobson. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by a son, Greg Scott; four sisters, Odessa Sykes, Gladys Stone, Mary Ruth Holbrook and Mildred Draughn; and four brothers, Dewitt Fowler, Walter T. Fowler, Jr., Grady Fowler, and Paul F. Fowler. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Thursday December 10, 2009 at Salem Fork Baptist Church by Rev. Tom Parker with burial to follow. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 pm until time for the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice 945 Zephyr Road Dobson, NC 27017.
