Nellie Foley

Mrs. Nellie Lawson Foley, age 86 of Stuart, passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Sovah Health of Martinsville.  She was born in Patrick County on April 1, 1935 to the late James and Katherine Lewis Lawson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, “Jim” Claude Foley; a daughter, Cathy Ann Foley; one sister, Mary Bowden White; and four brothers, Henry, Jessie, Elmer, and Amos Lawson.  Nellie had babysat for numerous children and was a member of Buffalo Ridge Church of God of Prophecy.          Surviving is a son, Jimmy Foley of Stuart; two grandchildren, Tabitha Foley, Jody Foley and wife, Yvvette; three great grandchildren, Emma, Raymond, Hunter; one sister and brother-in-law, Alice and James Ferguson of Stuart; one brother and sister-in-law, Edd and Shelia Lawson of Stuart; special caregivers, Angela and Melissa Hale; and several nieces and nephews.          Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastors Greg Martin and Tommy Bailey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lawson Family Cemetery on New Hope Rd.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
