Nellie Hiatt

Mrs. Nellie Marie Marshall Hiatt 89 of Ararat, Virginia passed away, Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at her home.  Mrs. Hiatt was born on May 29, 1931 in Patrick County, Virginia to the late Ulus and Elsie Dawson Marshall.  Mrs. Hiatt was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 71 years, Otto Reginald Hiatt, three daughters and sons-in-law, Marie Hiatt Moore and Bob, Therese Hiatt Tardell, and Anita Hiatt Springer and Bob; five grandchildren, Aubery Holt, Rob Springer, Matt Moore, Katy Tardell Rebeiro, and Michael Moore; seven great-grandchildren, Abby Holt, Hannah Holt, Jake Holt, Elliot Springer, Coleman Springer, Richard Moore, and Alexander Rebeiro; sisters and brother-in law, Betty Gates, Hazel Easter and Warren, Velma Anders; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde Marshall and Peggy, Bill Marshall and Velda, and Clifford Marshall and Judy; numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hiatt was preceded in death by two sisters, Mozelle Puckett, Ocie Nichols; brothers, Owen Marshall, Milburn Marshall, Kenneth Marshall, Herman Marshall, and John Marshall.  A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Willow Hill Moravian Church Cemetery with Rev.
