Nellie Johnson

Mrs. Nellie Creol Jester Johnson, 73, of Pinnacle, passed away early Friday morning, March 19, 2021, at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living Facility in Mount Airy.  Mrs. Johnson was born April 26, 1947, in Yadkin County, one of three children born to the late William Elis and Rose Mae Hutchens Jester.  Nellie retired as a personal care assistant from Twelve Oaks Assisted Living Facility.  She is survived by a daughter, Michelle Vickers and Roger Walls of Mount Airy; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Rebecca Vickers and Robert and Melissa Vickers, all of Pilot Mountain, and Jason Vickers of Mount Airy; her grandchildren, Amber Atkins, Roger Vickers, Andrew and Eden Vickers, Brittany Shinault, Robert Lee Vickers, and Jessica Muse; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Jester Snow of Mount Airy.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Johnson; and a brother, Johnny Walter Jester.  A memorial service will be held Monday, March 22, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Joe Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  Due to public health concerns, attendees are required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
