Mrs. Nellie Scott Marion Age 95 of 177 Locklear St. Mt. Airy passed away Friday night July 17, 2009 at the Heritage Heathcare of Elkin. Mrs. Marion was born November 16, 1913 in Patrick County to the late Charlie and Lucindy Hooker Scott, she was retired from Quality Mills Inc. and was a member of State Road Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law Annie Laurie and Davis Smith of Mt. Airy, a daughter-in-law Fern Marion of Mt. Airy, four grandchildren and spouses Jan Smith Whitaker and husband Leon, David and Karen Smith, Pam and Barry Badgett and Randy Marion all of Mt. Airy, eight great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren, four sisters and brother-in-law Irene Tilley of Winston Salem, Mary Jessup, Ava Hutchens and Alyene and Haywood Young all of Mt. Airy, three brothers Carl Scott of Claudville, Herbert Scott of Florida and Deward Scott of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents Mrs. Marion was preceded in death by her husband Posie Reins Marion two sons Herman Thomas Marion and Cecil Travis Marion, two sisters Hazel McMillian and Helen Key and by three brothers Paul Scott, Gene Scott and J. C. Scott. Funeral services will be held Monday July 20, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Elder George Flippen and Elder Paul Clark with burial to follow in the Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night 6 to 8 P.M. at the Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery c/o Kay Mosley, 1090 Brayford Rd. Dobson, NC. 27017.
