Nellie Iona Snow Nunn

Mrs. Nellie Iona Snow Nunn, 82, of Middle River, MD, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010, in Baltimore, MD. Mrs. Nunn was born February 7, 1928, in Randolph County, to the late Robert and Ila Cova Arrington Snow. She was employed by Glen L. Martin Company and later with Bendix Corporation. Mrs. Nunn was also a homemaker and a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Joseph Lee Nunn of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Lee Nunn, II and Nancy of Middle River, MD; four grandchildren and their spoues, Lisa and Jim Valdez of Phoenix, AL, Joseph Lee Nunn, III of Irvine, CA, Derrick Nunn of Spruce Pine, and Eric and Jessica Nunn of Fort Meade, MD; three great-grandchildren, Ricardo Luke Valdez, Lucinda Michelle Valdez, and Eric Shane Nunn, II; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Thelma Martin of Murphy, Juanita Miller of Clemmons, Betty and Jimmy Midkiff of Fancy Gap, VA, and Claudia and Bill Rhyne of Pilot Mountain; and a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Gerlene Snow of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Nunn was preceded in death by two sisters, Aleese Alfano and Arlene Gonce; and a brother, Robert Snow. The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. David Burgess officiating. Burial will follow in the Brims Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
