Nellie Mae Senter

Nellie Mae Senter, 83, of Mt. Airy, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Nellie was born March 9, 1924, in Gary, WV, to John and Lula Pace Senter. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Billy Cooley of Lambsburg, VA, and Joyce and Oliver Combs of Dobson; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Ray and Jackie Senter of Nakina and Raymond and Barbara Senter of Mt. Airy; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a sister, Ellen Senter of Dobson; and a brother and sister-in-law, Kelly and Dorlis Senter of Lexington. In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by sisters, Edna Lyles, Lucena Senter, Hattie Senter, and Elza Senter; and a brother, Willie Senter. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, January 27, 2008, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Lester Bryant. Burial will follow in Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:30 until the time of the service at the funeral home.
