Mrs. Nellie Vivian Puckett Watts, 89, of 108 Stedman Trail, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday morning, December 7, 2010, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Watts was born March 30, 1921, in Surry County, one of ten children born to the late Claude Turner and Maudie Hall Puckett. She was a homemaker and a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Tommy Haymore of Mount Airy; two sons and five daughters-in-law, Milano "Ham" and Linda Watts, Turner and Bettie Watts, Brenda Watts Craft, Velma Humphreys Watts, and Carolyn Hull Watts, all of Mount Airy; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Margaret Jones of Mount Airy and Frankie and Clyde Lawson of Stuart, VA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watts was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Watts; three sons, Jesse Watts, Johnny Watts, and Franklin Richard Watts; five sisters, Mildred Watts, Euelala Puckett, Maxine White, Violet Naylor, and Marylene Griffin; and two brothers, Claude L. Puckett and Leo Turner Puckett. The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 9, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Darrell Tate officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
