Nettie Marie Boyd Gwynn

Mrs. Nettie Marie Boyd Gwynn, 89, of Ararat, VA, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Gwynn was born November 20, 1918, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Roy and Rosa McMillian Boyd. She was a homemaker and attended Willis Gap Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Gwynn of Wytheville, VA, and Luci Mae Gwynn of Columbia, SC; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and three sisters, Icy Boyd Gwynn of Ararat, VA, and Beulah Boyd Smith and Margie Boyd Dawson, both of Cana, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gwynn was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Gwynn; a granddaughter, Heather Nunn; a sister, Lena Boyd Hiatt; and a brother, Posey Boyd. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Gwynn Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Arlis Thomas officiating. No formal visitation will be held at the funeral home.
