Evelyn Hodge

Mrs. Evelyn Reynolds Hodge, 91, of Mount Airy, passed at her home, August 9, 2021, with her family by her side. Mrs. Hodge was born in Surry County on July 15, 1930, to the late Rev. Jesse Vester “JV” Reynolds and Annie Eliza Rogers Reynolds. Mrs. Hodges was married to Ralph Hodge who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister and two brothers-in-law, Hallie and Ed McMillian, and Zane Cox; two brothers and sister-in-law, Carlton Reynolds, and Glenn and Katie Reynolds; and a great grandson, Jeremy Sprinkle. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol and Henry Lawson of Mount Airy, and Sherill Bowman of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Nancy Martin of Dobson; one granddaughter, Cindy and Mark Sprinkle of Kernersville, two grandsons, Brother Chris Martin of Mount Airy, and Landon Bowman of Mount Airy; one great-grandson, Nathan Sprinkle of Kernersville; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mycleta Reynolds Cox of Pfafftown, and Barbara and Hilton Creed of Mount Airy, sisters-in-law, Frances Reynolds and Madeline and Richard Young; two step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Hodge will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Zane Fishel and Brother Chris Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Hodge family.
