Nettie Hooker

Mrs. Nettie Ann Tilley Hooker, 93, of Mt. Airy, passed away at Twelve Oaks Senior Living, Wednesday, April 21, 2021.  She was born in Surry County, July 29, 1927, the youngest of eight children, to the late Jiles Elliott and Bettie Slate Tilley.  Mrs. Tilley retired from Spencer’s after 42 years of service.  She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Carroll and Pat Hooker; a daughter and son-in-law, Tami and Dean Goins; grandchildren and spouses, Mark Elliott Hooker and Holly, and Levi Justin Goins and Emily; great grandchildren, Ellie Caroline Hooker, Maizey Mae Goins, and Junah Wade Goins.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hooker was preceded in death by her husband, Conley Carroll Hooker; sisters, Zora Ward, Laura Jessup, Lillian Martin, and Inez Jefferson; and brothers, Clinard, Ted, and Rev. Jiles Tilley.  All services will be private.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mountain View Pentecostal Holiness Church, 497 Hatchers Chapel Rd., Claudville, VA 24076, or Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, suite 200, Mt.
