Nina Mae Bryant Sawyers

Mrs. Nina Mae Bryant Sawyers, 96, of Ararat, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011, at her home. Mrs. Sawyers was born June 24, 1914, in Surry County, to Elisha Phillip and Jennie Ann Cummings Bryant. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed by all her dear loved ones. Surviving are two daughters, Gloris Moser and Frankye Hutchins, both of Ararat; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Janice Sawyers of Pinnacle; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sawyers was preceded in death by her husband, Gratsie James Sawyers; a great-grandson, Justin Collins; a son-in-law, Gerald Moser; and two brothers, Garland Bryant and Ed Cummings. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Ararat Cemetery, with Chaplain Jim Churchwell officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at Mrs. Sawyers' home.
