Nora Ellen Musser Cockerham

Mrs. Nora Ellen Musser Cockerham, 66, of 8336 West Pine Street, Lowgap, passed away Sunday morning, November 28, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Cockerham was born August 17, 1944, in Grayson County, VA, daughter of the late Stark William and Velma Grace Nester Musser. Nora retired from Pine State Knitwear and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, James Leslie "Jim" Cockerham of the home; a daughter, Susan Cockerham of Lowgap; a granddaughter, Alyssa Grace-Ellen Meadows of Lowgap; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Loretta and Glen Wilson of Galax, VA, and Althea and Dwight Swan of Valrico, FL; a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Mebus Musser of Hillsville, VA; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Russell Parsons officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
