Norma Faye Barker Hooley

Mrs. Norma Faye Barker Hooley, 67, of 303 Flat Ridge Road, Cana, VA, passed away Friday, June 13, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Hooley was born April 18, 1941, in Surry County, to the late Bennie and Gladys Quesinberry Barker. She was a homemaker and a member of Fancy Gap Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Johnny Hooley of the home; and a special niece, Denise Nuhfer of Cana, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hooley was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Lou Partridge. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Fancy Gap Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Jimmy McCraw and the Rev. Dwight Sechrist, and burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes before the funeral service. The family would like to express a special thanks to Betty Snow, Clara Cummings, and Bridgett Dawn Leftwich for the loving care given to Mrs. Hooley during her illness.
