Norma Louise Lampron

Norma Louise Westmoreland Lampron, age 82, passed away peacefully, with her great niece Annette at her bedside, Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt Airy, NC. Norma was born in Cana, Virginia, October 22, 1941, to the late John William Westmoreland, Sr. and Mary Alice Willard Westmoreland. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David and Christina Lampron of Pensacola, Florida, a sister, Edie Jackson of Viera, Florida, several grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don, a sister and brother-in-law Ruby and Gifford Rigney, a brother and sister-in-law John William and Mary Elizabeth (Pete) Westmoreland, Jr., four nephews, Sam Westmoreland, Tony Rigney, Don Rigney and W. H. Rigney, two nieces, Esther Rigney Henley and Libby Rigney Richardson, 2 great-great nephews Dylan Casstevens and Joe Duncan, Jr, and a brother-in-law Arlis Jackson. Norma wished for her body to be donated for research and study to Wake Forest School of Medicine. Her cremains, along with her husband Don’s cremains, will be interred at Epworth United Methodist Church, Cana, Virginia at a later date. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held Sunday, January 14, 2024, at 3:30pm at Level Cross United Methodist Church, 4080 Siloam Road, Dobson, NC, with Rev. Danielle Voigt officiating. The service will be live streamed on the church’s Facebook page, Level Cross UMC. Food and fellowship with family and friends will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in memory of Norma and mailed to Level Cross UMC, c/o Elizabeth Calhoun, 4201 Siloam Rd, Dobson, NC 27017.
