Norma Jean McMillian

Norma Jean McMillian went to be with her Heavenly Father on 06 August 2021 after a short illness. Jean was born on October 16, 1947, to the late Ronald Benton and Mary Lillian Smith Easter. Born in Mt Airy, Jean spent most of her adult life living in Jersey City, NJ before moving back to Mt. Airy in 1996. Jean was a graduate of Mt Airy High School and had been a Certified Nursing Assistant at both Central Continuing Care and Northern Surry Hospital, retiring after the death of her late husband Larry Gene McMillian, she continued to care for patients in their homes. She loved to laugh and found joy in her family and friends. Her health issues kept her from traveling as much as she wanted to. She is survived by her fiancé Michael Jordan of the home, her daughter and son in law, Lynn and Ron Eason of Las Vegas; son and future daughter in law Jonathan Scot McMillian and Gisel Agistino; granddaughters, Bryanne Dennis-Eason of Las Vegas, Sara Brunson of Temecula, CA and Ronald Eason II of Las Vegas; 7 step great grandchildren; brother in law, Doug and Betty McMillan of Galax, VA; sister and brother in law, Mildred and Terry Watson; sister in law, Christine Mabe; brother and sister-in-law. Robert and Kathy Mabe, as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews and her fur babies, Zoe and Dexter who will miss her terribly. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Larry Gene McMillian, parents, Ronald Benton and Mary Lillian Smith Easter; sisters, Mary Margaret Hiatt and Cora Lee Hiatt Anthony. A grave side service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at 2pm at Solid Rock Baptist Church Cemetery with services conducted by Rev. Steve Johnson. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8pm at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
