Norris Olive Weathers

Mr. Norris Olive Weathers age 75 of 191 Belton Road, Mt. Airy, NC passed away Friday, October 12, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born April 2, 1932 in Lawrenceburg, TN to the late Aubrey Lee and Lelia Mae Yarbrough Weathers. Mr. Weathers was a veteran of the US Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a poet, orator and had won many speaking competitions in Forsyth County and Surry County. He was a member of Toast Masters International and never met a stranger. He was a Mason and a Shriner. Surviving are a faithful companion, Maude Johnson of the home, a son and daughter-in-law. William Norris " Bill" and Melonie Weathers, Mt. Airy, NC, two grandsons, William Jacob "Jake" Weathers,, and Chase Brigham Weathers both of Mt. Airy, NC, a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Edward C. Hiatt, Mt. Airy, NC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Weathers was preceded in death by a infant son, and two sisters, Reba Lee Maddox and Marilyn Jeanette Mayhall of Memphis,TN. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 15, 2007 at Grace Moravian Church conducted by Pastor Jeff Coppage. Burial will follow in God's Acre with full military rites conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 Mt. Airy and Post 9436 Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends 10:00 AM Monday until time of the service at Grace Moravian Church.
