Mrs. Ocie Phillips Hardy, 93, of Dobson, passed away Thursday November 4, 2010, at Dunmore Plantation. She was born August 15, 1917, in Surry County, to the late Watson "Clem" and Mary McCormick Phillips. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, a sister, Annie Hepler, and two brothers, Wade Phillips and Marshall Phillips, preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Jo Hardy and Glenn and Nannie Hardy, all of Dobson; four grandchildren and their spouses, David and Monica Hardy, Tim and Karen Hardy, Joseph and Kristy Hardy, and Phillip Hardy; and five great-grandchildren, Owen Hardy, Amelia Hardy, Colin Hardy, Ethan Hardy, and Tyler Hardy. The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 7, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church, with Dr. Andy Atkins and the Rev. James Pardue officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Fairview Baptist Church. Her body will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service at the church. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Hardy family.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday November 7, 2010 at Fairview Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Dr. Andy Atkins and Rev. James Pardue will officiate the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. at Fairview Baptist Church. Her body will lie in state 30 Min. prior the funeral service.
