Okey Clayton Sheets

Mr. Okey Clayton Sheets Age 90 of Mt. Airy, NC. passed away Thursday June 30, 2016 at the Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Sheets was born August 17, 1925 in Ashe County to the late Goye H. and Leevette Dixon Sheets. He was the founder and past owner of Sheets Transfer and Storage and was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law Dianna and Mike Forrest, one son and daughter-in-law Jerry W. Sheets, Sr. and wife Linda, a stepson Tim Carpenter and wife Vicki, son-in-law Gary Wilmoth, grandchildren Jerry W. Sheets, Jr., Jason Sheets, David Inman, Brandon Inman, Bradley Inman and Joey Inman, Michelle Atallah, Susan Spraker, Jack Forrest and Laura Forrest, step grandchildren Courtney and Morgan Carpenter, great grandchildren Ricky Sheets, Gracie Atallah, Jordan, Grant, Daniel and Maddoc Spraker, Tyler, Cobin, Cole, Gavin, Madison, Hope and Breanna Inman and Salem and Nolan Sheets and a sister-in-law Elaine Snow. In addition to his parents Mr. Sheets was preceded in death by his 1st wife Ruth Hendrix Sheets by his 2nd wife Evelyn Snow Sheets, his daughter Peggy Sheets Wilmoth, by two sisters Dare Richardson and Lena Hamm and by a brother-in-law James (Jr.) M. Snow. Funeral services will be held Sunday July 3, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with services conducted by Rev. Scott Schulyer with burial to follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until time for the service at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 123 Mt. Carmel Ch. Rd. Mt.
