Ola Florence Utt Haynes

Mrs. Ola Florence Utt Haynes, 76, of 2617 Epworth Church Road, Cana, VA, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born June 30, 1933, in Carroll County, VA, to the late George Burton and Hattie McMillian Utt. She was a retired postal clerk from the United States Postal Service and had worked 18 years at the Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Haynes was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cana, VA. She is survived by her husband, Roy Haynes of the home; a daughter, Suzanne Haynes of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Roy Richard "Rick" and Lisa Hall Haynes of Mount Airy; two grandsons, Nolan Richard Haynes and Leeman Jacob Haynes, both of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Vergie and Melvin Hiatt of Cana, VA; and three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Lonnie and Mabel Utt, George Vernon and Frances Utt, Wallace and Movitta Utt, and Louise Utt, all of Cana, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard Utt, Jim Utt, and Edsel Utt. A memorial service will be Sunday, October 10, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Oscar Hill officiating.
