Olin Homer Pendleton

Mr. Olin Homer Pendleton, age 78 of Stuart, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018 at his home.  He was born in Patrick County on June 18, 1940 to the late Homer and Ninna Hall Pendleton.  He retired from DuPont in Martinsville and had volunteered with the Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years.  He was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend.  He loved Sunday afternoon drives, especially on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Mr. Pendleton is survived by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Martin Pendleton of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan P. and Mark Hopkins of Westminster, Maryland, Angela P. and Kevin Phelon of Glen Allen, Virginia; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Collin Hopkins, Kelsey and Kaitlin Phelon.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Chris Foley officiating.  Burial will follow in Ross Harbour United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department, 6687 Fairystone Park Hwy., Stuart, Virginia 24171.  Online condolences may be made by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
