Olyian "Junior" Harrell Bullins, Jr.

Mr. Olyian “Junior” Harrell Bullins, Jr., age 69, passed away on Monday March 17, 2025, at his home. He was born in Patrick County on January 16, 1956, to Olyian Harrell Bullins, Sr. and Betty Roberston Bullins. In addition to his father, Mr. Bullins was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Pete and Rosie Bullins; maternal grandparents, Claris Doss and William F. “Buck” Robertson, father-in-law and mother- in-law, Claude and Ruth Lawson; brothers-in-law, Douglas Lawson and Terry Lawson; special nephews, James George and Douglas Owens. Junior was a member of New Beginning Church of Claudville, Virginia. He loved his wife, children, and family. He fondly gave most he loved a special nickname, loved to joke and tease and make others laugh. He will be missed greatly but the family takes comfort in knowing that he fought a hard fight and is now resting in his heavenly home.

Mr. Bullins is survived by his wife, Arlene Lawson Bullins of the home; one daughter, Natasha Bullins Handy (Timmy) of Mayodan, North Carolina; two stepsons, LJ Hutchens (Jackie) of Bonham, Texas, Michael Hutchens (“Alyssa) of Walnut Cove, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Kalei Handy, Jordan Handy, Bella Handy, Miranda Hymel (Matthew), Dylan Hutchens, Layla Hutchens; one great-grandchild, Calliope White; his mother, Betty Robertson Bullins of Lawsonville, North Carolina, one brother, Jerry Bullins of Lawsonville, North Carolina, two sisters, Miranda Nelson of Lawsonville, North Carolina, Susan Bullins Tucker (Kennan) of Danbury, North Carolina; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jimmy Lawson (Janet), Odell Lawson (Penny), Johnny Lawson (Stephanie), Garland Lawson (Jenny), Donna Lawson, Lisa Hauger (Lee), Tammy Lawson (Ronnie), Mary Parker (Freddie); special nieces, Kayla Tucker Collins(Tony), and Autumn Lawson; Junior is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews who loved him.

A celebration of life service for Mr. Bullins will be held Sunday, March 23, 2025 at 2:00 pm at New Beginning Church, 6547 Dobyns Rd, Claudville, VA 24078 with Pastor Dewayne Troutt officiating. The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for their support during this difficult time and a special thank you to Amber Hundley for her dedication to getting Junior home as were his wishes, as well as her support and kindness during the journey. The family would also like to thank all that have called, visited, prayed, loved and supported Junior and Arlene during this difficult time.
