Mrs. Oma Lee Poteat Bryant, 62, loving wife of Teddy Ray Bryant, of Mt. Airy, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday June 28, 2007 while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late William Calloway and Elizabeth Flannery Poteat. Mrs. Bryant was a homemaker and a member of Gospel of Jesus Christ Church. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Teddy Ray Bryant of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law Sharon Bryant and Larry Golden and Audrey and Phillip Edwards; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Christina Bryant all of Mt. Airy; two precious grandsons, Lewis Paul Edwards and Zachary Ray Bryant; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Ronnie Allen, Diane and James Edwards, Mary and Warren Beasley, Shirley and Joe Hawks and Wanda Conner; a brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Zeta Poteat; special nieces, Karen Bryant and Jeanie Prevette and a special nephew, Johnny Bryant. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Chandler and a brother, Richard Poteat. A graveside service will be held at 3 pm Saturday at Rockford Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Don Collins officiating. There will be no formal visitation. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all Emergency Response Teams in Mt. Airy and the staff of Northern Hospital of Surry County. A special thanks to Dr. Zarate and staff and neighbors, Tony McGrady and the Robbins family. Moody-Davis Funeral Home of Dobson is serving the Bryant family.
