Onevo Idell Shelton Weddell

Mrs. Onevo Idell Shelton Weddell, 86, of 446 Spencer Mill Road, Hillsville, VA, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, VA. Mrs. Weddell was born October 27, 1921, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Harley and Alverta Semones Shelton. She was a homemaker and a member of Pilot View Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Jeanette W. Ayers of Laurel Fork, VA; three grandchildren and two spouses, Juron G. and Cathy Ayers of Cartersville, GA, Karen and Roger DeKraker of Scottsdale, AZ, and Michele R. Ayers and fiance, Daniel Marshall, of Mount Airy; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Juron Ayers and Heather Nicole Ayers, both of Cartersville, GA; and a brother, Troy R. Shelton of Lowgap. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Weddell was preceded in death by her husband, Layton H. Weddell; a sister, Verlie Willard; and two brothers, W.D. Shelton and Victor L. Shelton. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Clarence Marshall, and burial will follow in the Pilot View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
