Opal Mae "Polly" Bartley

Mrs. Opal Mae “Polly” Lowe Bartley, age 80, of Mt. Airy, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.  Mrs. Bartley was born in Grayson County, VA, on September 15, 1937, to Sanders and Tilda Norman Lowe.  “My mom was beautiful, humble, considerate, intelligent, hardworking and strong” (Angie Fiebernitz).  She was a member of Roaring Gap Baptist Church.  Her sweet memory will forever be cherished by her husband, Curtis Bartley; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and David Lowe, Donna and John Saylor, and Angie and Chuck Fiebernitz; a step daughter, Lana Smith; grandchildren; Angel Ramey, Laura Hodges, Adam Lowe, Lindsey Ramey, Jake Lowe, step grandchildren; Robbie Caudle and Tammy Umstead; five great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and a brother, J. V. Lowe.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bartley was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Parish; sisters, Peggy Hinshaw, Lois Maxwell, and Ocie McBride and brothers, Keith, Alonzo, Pete, Samuel, Ander, and Cecil Lowe.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Roaring Gap Baptist Church by Rev. Joe Atkins.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday at the church one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roaring Gap Baptist at 1855 Ramey Creek Rd., Lowgap, 27024 or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt.
