Opal Cleo Bean Beck

Mrs. Opal Cleo Bean Beck, 77, of 2813 Moxley Road, Boonville, passed away Monday afternoon, July 20, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Beck was born May 8, 1938, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Maggie Bennett Beck Shouse. Opal was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be missed by all her family and many friends. She was a member of Freedom House Church in Jonesville. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Connie Beck of the home, Barbara and Ricky Haynes of Traphill, and Judy and Anatolio Garcia of Yadkinville; two sons, Johnny Beck of the home and Danny Lee Beck of Jonesville; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Nonnie and Albert Denny of King and Ruby and C.V. Matlock of Kernersville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Beck was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Beck; a grandson, Jason Miller Beck; three sisters; and six brothers. The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Phillip Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitaker Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from noon until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
