Mrs. Opal Mae Chamberlain Hall, 71, of 112 Brenda Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Hall was born March 1, 1937, in Surry County, to the late Silas W. and Bertha Jane Jenkins Chamberlain. She was a homemaker and an active member of the Faith and Gospel Church, where she had served in many capacities. Surviving are her husband, Clinton B. Hall of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Chris Thorpe of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Madison Jade Lee Joines and Ethan Rylan Thorpe, both of Raleigh; three stepgrandchildren, Courtney Thorpe, Christopher Thorpe, and Alexis Thorpe, all of Walkertown; two sisters-in-law, Mae Chamblin and Marie Chamberlain, both of Mount Airy; a special niece, Lisa Moore of Mount Airy; several other nieces; and several nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by an infant son; and three brothers, Jesse Chamberlain, Roy Chamberlain and James Chamblin. The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 27, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Vic Pyles, and burial will follow in the Indian Grove Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 12:30 until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
