Opal Marie Harris Hodges

Mrs. Opal Marie Harris Hodges, 81, widow of Mr. William Henry Hodges, of Dobson passed away on Sunday June 15, 2008 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Surry County on January 2, 1927 to the late Major Garfield and Emma Todd Harris. Mrs. Hodges was a homemaker and a member of Central View Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law Roy Lee and Laura Hodges of Sherrill's Ford; three grandchildren, Tammy Lynn Hodges, Jennifer Hodges and Chad Hodges; two great-grandchildren, Bradley Hodges and Brandy Hodges; one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Elizabeth Truesdale of Mount Airy and Ruth Haney of Charlotte and a brother, Johnny Harris of Mount Airy. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by a son, Roger Hodges; a sister, Olene Harris and a brother, Odell Harris. There will be no formal services. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is assisting the Hodges family.
