Opal Lee Jones made her way to her Heavenly Father on October 14, 2020. She was born in Carroll County on February 25, 1936, to Raymond and Maggie Midkiff. She lived a wonderful 84 years 7 months and 11 days showing love and compassion her entire time on Earth. If you knew her, you knew love! Family was her pride, joy, and true passion. She was one of the most beautiful and self-sacrificing people to ever walk the Earth! The world is a little darker without her. She is survived by her loving husband, William “Bill” Jones of 65 amazing years - all because he saw her wearing that yellow dress - 5 children: Roger, Ricky, Randy, Rusty, and Rhonda; 10 grandchildren: Anthony, Matthew, Brandi, Leigh Ann, Adam, Andrew, Chasity, Chris, Ashley, and Corey; 15 great-grandchildren: Kayla, Lucas, Riley, Haley, Catherine, Zaden, Zain, Travis, Allie, Maci, Elijah, Ava, Everleigh, Ashton, and a baby; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Guida Mae, Mary Ann, and Debbie; 2 brothers: Joe and Mike. She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters. There will be a viewing at Moody’s Funeral Chapel on Sunday, October 18 at 1 pm with a graveside service at 2:00 at the Jones/Fleming Cemetery in VA. Pallbearers are as follows: Anthony, Matthew, Adam, Andrew, Chris, Corey, and Travis. For those wishing to attend this amazing woman’s service, please respect social distancing and wear a mask. Donations can be made to the Jones/Fleming Cemetery in honor of Mrs. Opal Jones.
