Opal Ilene Haynes McMillian

Mrs. Opal Ilene Haynes McMillian, 82, of Mt. Airy, widow of Early Hampton McMillian, Sr. passed away Monday, February 26, 2007, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. McMillian was born in Carroll County, VA, January 10, 1925, to David Haynes, Sr. and Lucy Guynn Haynes. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Brewer of Winston-Salem and Margaret Kidd of Mt. Airy; a son, Early McMillian, Jr. of Mt. Airy; grandchildren, Angelina Kidd, Kimberly Kidd and Jerry Kidd; great grandchildren, Kyla Gunter and Sadie O'Neal; sisters, Virginia McMillian of Cana, VA, and Ernestine Ayers of High Point; and a brother and sister-in-law, David Haynes, Jr. and Annie of Cana, VA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7:00 to 9:00 at the funeral home.
