Opalene Frances Jones Gammons

Mrs. Opalene Frances Jones Gammons, 78, of 686 Holly Springs Road, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Gammons was born February 8, 1930, in Carroll County, VA, daughter of the late Robert and Molly Smith Jones. She retired from Renfro Corporation and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Glenn Gammons of the home; a daughter, Barbara Martin of the home; three grandchildren, Joy Martin, Glenn Martin, and Brandon Martin, all of Mount Airy; a sister, Lillian Vernon of Cana, VA; and a brother, Ted Jones of Cana, VA. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Holly Springs Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Lanny Atkins and the Rev. Larry Jones, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
