Oscar Floyd Dunigan, Jr

Mr. Oscar Floyd Dunigan, Jr. 77, husband of Mrs. Della Kathleen Dobbins Dunigan, of Elkin, passed away on Wednesday August 22, 2007 at Britthaven of Wilkesboro. He was born in Gilford County on June 19, 1934 to the late Oscar Floyd, Sr. and Mamie Stanley Dunigan. Mr. Dunigan was retired from the Surry County Sheriff's Department where he served as a Detention Officer and was a veteran of the United States Army. Survivors include his loving wife Della Kathleen Dobbins Dunigan of the home; a daughter and son-in-law Jeanie and Jerry Ring of North Wilkesboro and three grandchildren, Jennifer Ring, Josh Ring and Jada Ring. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday August 24, 2007 in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Groce officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service.
