Oscar Davis Edwards

Mr. Oscar Davis Edwards, age 70 of Mt. Airy, passed away Monday, January 21, 2008 at his home. Mr. Edwards was born in Carroll County, October 20, 1937 to Isaac L. and Mary Elizabeth Hawks Edwards. He was a retired mechanic. Surviving is his devoted wife, Mildred Hawks Edwards of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and William Cagle of Cana; four sons and two daughters-in-law, David Edwards of the home; Terry Dale Edwards of Rockwell; Timmy and Dorothy Edwards of Lowgap; Michael and Amy Edwards of Mt. Airy; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Ollie Hawks Hooker of Cana; a brother and sister-in-law, James Andrew and Carol Edwards of Mt. Airy; and a host of special family, friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with burial to follow at Sandy Ridge Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 PM.
