Ossie Mae Booker Cooke

Ms. Ossie Mae Booker Cooke, 92, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Ms. Cooke was born June 2, 1918, in Surry County, to Edward and Arbell Jackson Booker. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. Surviving are two sons, Ronnie Cooke and Danny Cooke and special friend, Teresa Boyd, all of Mount Airy; six grandchildren, Tim Tilley and his wife, Stacy, Terry Tilley and his wife, Lisa, Travis Tilley, Heather Cooke, Chris Cooke, and Anthony Isom; seven great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Imalee Booker of Mount Airy; a sister-in-law, Loretta Booker of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Cooke was preceded in death by a daughter, Pam Tilley; a son, Ricky Cooke; a sister, Virginia Marshall; and two brothers, Gene Booker and Jack Booker. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Tim Tilley officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
