Otis Herman Whitaker

Mr. Otis Herman Whitaker age 59 of 525 George Chandler Road, Mt. Airy, NC husband of Mrs. Carolyn Gail Reece Whitaker passed away Friday, August 29, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 18, 1949 in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Ila Mae Gwyn Hall and Ernest James Hall, Sr. He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Gail Reece Whitaker of the home, a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and John McCormick, Mt. Airy, a step daughter, Donna Heath, Mt. Airy, a step son and daughter-in-law, Franklin Dale and Ann Heath, Mt. Airy, three grandchildren, Bradley Cole Midkiff, Savanah Nikole McCormick and Nathaniel Sie McCormick all of Mt. Airy, seven step grandchildren, his father, Ernest James Hall, Sr., Mt. Airy, a sister, Manie Hall, M. Airy and a brother and sister-in-law Ernest James Hall, Jr. and Willa of Mt. Airy . . Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. airy conducted by Rev. Stuart Roten Burial will follow in the Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Monday night at Moody Funeral Home.
