P McPherson

Mr. P. James McPherson (Mr. Mac), age 82, of Mt. Airy, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 14, 2021, at Twelve Oaks, Mt. Airy, NC.  He was born on October 29,1938, in Scott County, VA, to the late Lloyd Howard McPherson and the late Emily B Childress McPherson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shelby Jean Mendenhall McPherson, and sister Joyce Ann Lumpkins. He was a retired School Teacher, and retired PBX operator from Northern Regional Hospital. He was a loving father, husband, and papa. Surviving is his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer “JJ” and Todd Goodson; Brother and sister-in-law, Ricky, and Bobbie McPherson; two grandchildren, Emily and Chris Edwards, Katlin, and Russell Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Adeline Reynolds, Averie Reynolds, and Robert James “RJ” Edwards, as well as several nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at Moody-Davis Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday from 12:30 PM until time of his service at 2:00 PM.  Due to COVID restrictions, the family requests all attendees wear a mask and practice social distancing.  To send flowers to P's family, please visit our floral store.
