Paige Smith

Mr. Paige Smith, age 94 of Mount Airy, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Ridgecrest Retirement Home.  He was born May 3, 1924 to the late Tilden and Ethel Amburn Smith.  He was Owner and President of Cooke Trucking Co., Inc. in Mount Airy and proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy.  Mr. Smith was also the oldest living member of the Round Peak Masonic Lodge #616 A.F. & A.M.  Left to cherish his memories are a son and daughter-in-law, David and Sandy Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Melba and Steve Hull; grandchildren, Olivia and Lillian Smith, and Tiffany Bullins and husband Scotty; great-granddaughter, Gracie Rae Bullins; and a sister, Faye Scott.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy B. Smith; and three brothers, Roger, Warren and Haywood Smith.  A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with services conducted by Rev. Robert McCrary.  Burial will follow at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery in Lowgap with military honors conducted by VFW Post 2019 of Mount Airy and VFW Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain.  The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:30 until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030.
