Pastor Ted Crotts

Pastor Ted Ray Crotts, age 78, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023 at his home.  He was born on December 11, 1944 in Carroll County to the late Jonah and Patty Ann Rakes Crotts. Mr. Crotts was the Pastor of Blackwater Baptist Church for 31years.  Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Charlotte Ann Atkins Crotts; daughters and sons-in-law, Anita Stoltzfus (Alvin), Dianna Danley (Franklin); son and daughter-in-law, Pastor Tim Crotts (Hallie); eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren, and one on the way; brother-in-law, Frank Danley; sisters-in-law, Wanda, and June Crotts; several nieces and nephews; special daughter, Carolyn Bullin.  In addition to his parents Mr. Crotts was preceded in death by a grandson, Corey Danley; sisters, Jean Danley, Bertha Stevens, Annie Goins, Polly Tolbert, infant sister, Shirley Crotts; brothers, Jackie, Bobby, and Alexander Crotts.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Blackwater Baptist Church with service conducted by Pastor Tim Crotts, Pastor Greg Hall, and Pastor Leonard Fletcher.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 PM~8:00 PM at Blackwater Baptist Church.  The family would like to say a special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice, especially Janice Carter, and Hailey Goins.
