Patrica (Trish) Acker

Patricia (Trish) Acker passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center on December 19, 2023 after a lengthy illness. She was born June 6^th, 1957, in Mt. Airy, NC, to Joseph Licious (Lish) and Elizabeth Faye Venable Samuel. She was a devoted wife, mother, Nana and dog mom who touched the hearts of all who knew her. Trish found joy in simple pleasures-sitting by the fire, enveloped by the warmth of family and the melody of her favorite music. Her love knew no bounds, and she faced her illness with a courage and inspired everyone around her. Trish’s strength and enduring love will forever remain etched in the hearts of those fortunate to have shared in her beautiful journey. She leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and resilience that family and friends will cherish. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Dana Acker, and children, Ashley Eades (Ty), Justin Horn (Michelle), and J.W. Acker (Alicia); grandchildren, Jay and Evey Sam Eades, Anthony, Andrew, and Jackson Horn; brothers, Mickey Samuel (Susan), Mark Samuel; sister, Ann Brintle; sister-in-law, Kat Cooke (Joe) and her two fur babies, Rowdy and Dolly. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Carl and Thelma Venable, and her mother-in-law, Cherie Acker. Instead of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or to Mount Carmel Baptist Church in her name would be appreciated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 13 at 1:00 at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Mount Airy, NC. A celebration of life with family and friends will be Saturday, January 20 from 1:00-5:00 with live music at Round Peak Vineyards on Round Peak Road, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy.
