Patricia Ann Draughn Branson

Mrs. Patricia Ann Draughn Branson, 67, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 7, 2021, at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Branson was born July 27, 1954, in Surry County, the daughter of the late Lester Monroe and Kathleen Dawson Draughn. Patricia graduated from North Surry High School in 1972, and she worked at Walmart for many years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and attended The Church of God of Prophecy. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, George Junior Branson; a daughter, Kelly Branson; a sister-in-law, Gizila Draughn; her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda and Ricky Chandler, Mildred and Lonnie Handy, Edith and LeRoy King, Patsy Robertson, and Janice Woods; numerous nieces and nephews, including Karen and David Holland, Ica and John Eldridge, Bruce Lee Draughn, Zaylie Leigh Draughn, and Ellisynn Leinae Eldridge; a special cousin and her family, Sharon and James Knox and Ashley, Steven, and Jaxson Corn; and her furry friend, Lucy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Branson was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Draughn Faw; a brother, Nathan Dale Draughn; two brothers-in-law, Larry Branson and Eddie Branson; and a nephew, Randy Faw. The funeral service will be held Friday, November 12, 2021, at 1:00 PM at The Church of God of Prophecy, with the Rev. Thomas Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Draughn Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the church. At other times, the family welcomes friends to the home of Ica and John Eldridge at 262 Woodcreek Drive, Mount Airy.
