Patricia Diane Whitaker Cifuentes

Mrs. Patricia Diane Whitaker Cifuentes, 54, of 160 Calvary Drive, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2009, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Cifuentes was born September 2, 1954, in Forsyth County, to Claude Allen and Gracie Irene Edwards Whitaker. She was a home health aide for Senior Quality Care Inc. and a member of Grace Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Adolfo Torres Cifuentes of the home; a daughter, Sophia Nicole Cifuentes of Mount Airy; a son, Joshua Allen Whitaker of Mount Airy; a granddaughter, Madison Serenity Payne of Mount Airy; her parents, Claude Allen and Gracie Irene Edwards Whitaker of Mount Airy; and a sister and brother-in-law, Claudine and Johnny Simmons of Mount Airy. Mrs. Cifuentes was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Lee Whitaker. A graveside service will be held Sunday, January 4, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Edwards-Upchurch Cemetery, with the Rev. Jerry Pardue officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, and other times at the home of Claude Allen and Gracie Irene Edwards Whitaker, 155 Calvary Drive, Mount Airy. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, especially Louise and Sally, for the love and care given to Patricia during her illness. Also, they would like to thank their special friends, Bertha, Jackie, Melissa, and Shirley, for the support and kindness shown to them during this difficult time.
