Patsy Juanita Strickland

Ms. Patsy Juanita Strickland, 72, of Cana, VA, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Ms. Strickland was born November 28, 1935, in Carroll County, VA, to the late John Wesley and Cena Pearl Edwards Strickland. She retired from Spencer's Inc. and was a member of Rocky Ford Christian Church in Cana, VA. She is survived by two sisters and brothers in law, Faye and Lonnie Draughn of Mount Airy and Shirley and Clayton Thomas of Cana, VA; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Johnny Strickland and D.A. and Connie Strickland, all of Cana, VA, and Randall and Tonda Strickland of Lambsburg, VA; several special nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Aldean Norman of Mount Airy. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Rocky Ford Christian Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Billy Moore, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.
