Patty June (Bodenhamer) Stafford

Mrs. Patty June Johnson (Bodenhamer) Stafford, 85, of Mount Airy, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  She was born in Surry County on February 13, 1936 to the late King Brady Johnson and Mary McHone Johnson.  Mrs. Stafford retired from Mount Airy Signs and Letters after many years of service.  Patty was a longtime member of Blues Grove Baptist Church where she served the Lord in many positions.  Among those she served as President of the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU), the Church Librarian, and served as the treasurer of Blues Grove Mission Fund that helped people in need for such things as medical bills, light bills, and groceries.  Patty also served on the My Father’s Table Ministry which is a community ministry in partnership with other local churches.  Left to cherish her memory are two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Jim Sewell, and Kim and Steve Todd; a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Robin Bodenhamer; grandchildren, Britta Cagle, Aysha Bodenhamer, Bradley and Ashley Mickey, Christopher Mickey, Kayla and Stephen Guilliams, Haven and Justin Setterlund, Monica and Bill Pipes, Chuck Griffin, and Danielle and Cory Hiatt; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Georgia and Bill Lundy, Edith and Paul Owen, and Linda and Danny Martin; a sister-in-law, Betty Sue Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stafford was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Bowman Stafford; grandson, Zach Cruise; sister and brother-in-law, Jo Anne and Randall Bryant; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Clayton and Peggy Johnson, and Eugene and Mildred Johnson; and the father of her children, Bobbie Gray Bodenhamer, Sr.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 17, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Blues Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Sechrist and Rev. Sammy Lawson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the church.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made the Blues Grove Baptist Church Missions Program, 3069 Red Brush Rd., Mount Airy, NC 27030.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Stafford family.
