Patty Sawyers Marshall

Mrs. Patty Sawyers Marshall, 69, of Ararat, VA, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Marshall was born November 19, 1940, in Patrick County, VA. She retired from Sara Lee and was a member of Doe Run Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Ronald Moser of Jonesville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis and Opie Marshall of Ararat, VA, and Dwayne Marshall of the home; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a step- brother and his wife, Everette and Vicey Smith of Gladesboro, VA. Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil V. "Buck" Marshall; and her parents, Samuel Everette and Mattie Sawyers Smith. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 2, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Doe Run Baptist Church, with the Rev. Terry Vaughan and the Rev. Sammy Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Doe Run Baptist Church.
