Paul Junior "Bud" Childress

Mr. Paul Junior "Bud" Childress, age 65 of State Road, passed away on Tuesday morning June 17, 2008 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. He was born in Surry County on June 27, 1942 to the late Paul Julius Childress and the late Gladys Dollyhigh Childress. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Shirley Freeman. Mr. Childress was a member of Charity Hill Baptist Church and was retired from the Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital were he was a security guard. Surviving is his wife Janet Lyles Childress of the home; one daughter and son-in-law Penny and Tim Danley of Mt. Airy; one son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Audrey Childress of Thurmond; four grandchildren Casey Childress, Skyler Childress, McKenzie Danley, and Ethan Danley; three brothers and sisters-in-law Arnold Gray and Amy Childress of Dobson, Doug and Linda Childress of Elkin, and Beamer and Sue Childress of Elkin. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday June 19, 2008 at Charity Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Brian Cardwell and Rev. Bobby Lyles will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Charity Hill Baptist Church on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 P.M. Moody-Davis Funeral Services in Dobson are serving the Childress Family.
