Mr. Paul Radford Draughn, 78, devoted husband of Jewel Raye Flynn Draughn of Dobson, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2006 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born in Surry County on June 29, 1928 to the late Samuel and Grace Edmonds Draughn. Mr. Draughn retired from farming and later retired from Grinnell Metal Fabrications and was a member of New Home Church of Christ. Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years Jewel Raye Flynn Draughn of the home; a daughter and son-in-law Rebecca Ann and Barry Bottoms of Dobson, NC; three sons and daughters-in-law David Wade and Cindi Draughn of Boynton Beach FL, Winford Ray and Annette Draughn of Mt. Airy, NC and Ralph Edward and Frances Draughn of Dobson, NC; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Fern Draughn of Dobson, NC; a brother Glenn Draughn of Dobson, NC; a special sister-in-law Louise Draughn; several nieces and nephews; two special cousins Hal and Wayne Draughn of Dobson, NC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Draughn was preceded in death by a brother, Grover Draughn. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday December 17, 2006 at New Home Church of Christ Cemetery with Rev. Tim Smith officiating and burial to follow. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at Moody-Davis Funeral Home of Dobson and at the Draughn home following the graveside service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of the Donor's choice.
